Medical Companions

One disease at a time, animated and cited.

Free guides for health-science students, for people living with a disease, and for the families who care for them. Each one shows how the disease works with animations you can scrub, and links every claim to its source.

Not medical advice. These are educational summaries of the published research. They cannot diagnose anyone, and nothing in them should change a treatment without your own clinician.

How the companions are made

Research first

Each companion starts with separate research passes, one per area (genetics, diagnosis, treatment, nursing care and so on). Every pass returns cited facts, and the modules are written only from those.

Every claim cited

A small number after a claim opens its source. Source lists are checked against the published records, and the build fails if a citation points to a source that isn't in the list.

Evidence labelled

Research claims are labelled Established, Early evidence or Hypothesis. Where experts disagree, the guide shows the disagreement.

Built for everyone

Every animation has a phone layout, keyboard controls and a spoken description for screen readers. Each companion remembers your place on your device.
